Null Parents — Information & System Overview

Null Parents are special, non-canon breeding anchors used strictly for trait generation.
They are not characters, have no art, no names, and no presence in official lore.
They exist solely to allow players to create trait-based offspring without affecting canon storylines.

What Are Null Parents?

Null Parents are blank-slot parents used for non-canon breeding.

They count as an optional parent when creating a design using only allowed traits.

They do not pass down personal mutations, story roles, or appearance.

They are mostly static—purely mechanical rather than narrative.

What They Can Pass Down

Because Null Parents are built as a trait pool, they can pass:

Common traits

Uncommon traits

Rare traits [in null events]
mutations [in rare null events]

Any traits you canonically allow for non-canon breeding

They cannot pass:

Mutations (unless a special event says otherwise — see below)

Anything exclusive to canon characters

Upgrades that normally require items or customs

Personality, lore, bloodlines, or lineage

---

Cost System

To separate Null Parent breeding from official canon breeding:

Currency: BH Instead of Fruit you will find a new token in the token shop for BH

Null Parent breeding costs BH

Canon breeding uses Fruit

This keeps non-canon breeding accessible but clearly different from official lines.

---

Spontaneous Mutation Events (Optional but Fun)

To keep things exciting, you can run spontaneous “Null Surge Events.”

How It Works

A Null Parent randomly “glitches” or “flares” with a one-time mutation.

This mutation exists ONLY for that breeding roll.

After the breeding, the Null Parent disappears or resets to blank.

These events are temporary, rare, and non-canon.

Why This Works

Players get a chance at a mutation without needing:

A custom

A mutation item

A canon parent with the mutation

It keeps mutation access limited but fun and fair.

It preserves lore integrity, since Null Parents aren’t canon characters.

Examples

“Null Overload Event — 24 hours! A random Null Parent now has a TEMPORARY Spine Bloom mutation.”

“A Void Rift opened! One Null Parent can pass down one flux mutation before collapsing.”
